About
Dr. Andrew Levin is an associate professor of music at Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina, where he has taught music since 1993. He conducts the university orchestra, coaches chamber music, and teaches music classes history and theory classes. He is active as a violist, having subbed with the Charleston (SC) and Greenville (SC) Symphony Orchestras, played principal with the Carolina Pops Orchestra (SC), and as a freelance musician, performing for weddings, church services, and more. He founded his own music contracting business, Classic Touch, in 1999 and has played chamber for weddings since the mid-1970s.
As a Californian, Dr. Levin earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Los Angeles, studying both viola and piano. He then earned a double Master of Music degree from Rice University in conducting and piano performance. He finished with his Doctor of Arts degree in conducting, with additional study in viola performance, from Ball State University in Muncie, IN.
